It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Petershack, beloved father and husband, coach, retired hero police officer, friend, and avid outdoorsman. Coach Mike passed away on August 7, 2025. A perfectionist in everything he did, Mike served with honor and dedication as a police officer, earning the respect of his colleagues and the community. After retiring, he devoted countless hours to volunteering, including serving on the Sparta Youth Softball Board, where his commitment to both hockey and softball, and its players will leave a lasting impact.
In addition to being a staple in the local softball community Mike was also a coach here at Kaboom for his daughter's 10U team and will be truly missed. Please use the link below to support the Petershack family in their time of need.

Oliva Huffman joins us as a former four-year varsity starter for Pope John High School in Sparta, NJ who went on to play at the collegiate level with Farleigh Dickinson University. During that time Olivia was also a valued member of the Kaboom family spending 8 years with the club playing on teams from 14U through 23U.
"Being able to give back to the program that gave me so many memories means the world to me. I can't wait to share what I've learned with the next generation of athletes."
Please welcome Olivia back to the program!
Maddie Sacchiero is a recent graduate of Gettysburg College where she spent the last 4 playing softball at the collegiate level. Prior to Gettysburg Maddie was a four-year varsity starter at Pope John High School in Sparta, NJ and played for the Sparta Diamonds, before spending 4 years with Kaboom.
"My favorite softball memories were with Kaboom...the camaraderie of that team was unmatched, and I am now honored to say that I am a coach for that same club and have the opportunity to give these girls the same amazing experience I had."
Please welcome Maddie back to the program!
